A fortunate follow-up for a patient with depression
Peter, a 45-year-old unemployed man, presents with several months of feeling down on most days. This is associated with initial insomnia, reduced motivation, fatigue and excessive worry.
He denies associated panic symptoms, anorexia, feeling worthless, self-harm or suicidal ideation.
He drinks alcohol very occasionally and does not use recreational drugs. Peter lives with his partner and two children.
He has a history of chronic mechanical low back pain after a motorbike accident in his early 20s.
