High-dose iron infusions
Diana is an 86-year-old woman who lives independently.
She was diagnosed with recurrent symptomatic iron deficiency anaemia, which is due to small bowel angiodysplasia, in 2004.
Her medical history is also notable for an ischaemic cardiomyopathy with a left ventricular ejection fraction of 35%. She has previously been treated with coronary angioplasty and stent placement.
Diana’s regular medications include ramipril, carvedilol, spironolactone, frusemide, simvastatin, esomeprazole, cholecalciferol and low-dose aspirin.
