Mrs B is an 85-year-old woman living in an aged care facility.
Over the past six months, Mrs B has had a reduced appetite and has lost 10kg. She now weighs 49kg.
Mrs B’s medical history includes oxygen-dependent COPD, depression and arthritis. Nursing staff have raised the idea of starting Mrs B on Sustagen milk drinks at morning tea and afternoon tea.
However, Mrs B is resistant to this idea as she believes milk products increase mucous production.
