General Practitioner
RVTS Training is a four-year GP and Rural Generalist training program delivered by Distance Education and Remote Supervision leading to Fellowship of the ACRRM and/or RACGP. RVTS Training is fully funded by the Australian Government.
Four T’s is a comprehensive primary care service across four nearby communities, Tottenham, Trangie, Trundle, and Tullamore with Rural Generalists working as a collaborative team to provide high-quality health care. The services are located within the town’s Multipurpose Service and seamlessly link through a single-employer model with the acute services in these towns.
This new model aims to address the historical challenges of primary care sustainability in rural communities, providing Doctors with the flexibility to be well supported, so you can provide whole-of-health care (primary and aged care alongside acute and emergency care) in a networked, single employer system.
Together the Four T’s Medical Centres care for approximately 2500 primary care patients alongside 45 aged care residents within the four MPS’s in total. Each of the Emergency Departments across the 4T’s see on average less than two emergency presentations per day, and a l have between 2 and 4 inpatient beds available. Medical staff are also supported by our 24/7 Virtual Rural Generalist Service to ensure doctors are not overburdened by minor presentations after-hours and on weekends.
Each of the towns in the FourT’s have less than 1500 people and are situated approx. 30 minutes from the next by road and less than 2 hours from the regional centres of Dubbo and Orange with direct flights to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Canberra.
Services are predominantly medical, nursing, and administrative services, with some visiting physiotherapy, podiatry, and audiometry services. A fully operational Pharmacy is available onsite in Tottenham and Tullamore (and in-town in Trangie and Trundle).
