Our General Practice is looking for an energetic, highly motivated doctor to join our friendly professional team.  Situated on the picturesque far south coast of NSW set in the green rolling hills of the Bega valley with our beautiful beaches close by.

Bega is only 10 mins from beautiful Tathra and 20 mins from the beautiful Sapphire coast of Merimbula. Our pristine beaches are refreshing on a warm summers day. We have our close by Merimbula Airport available for travel which makes Melbourne or Sydney only a 1-hour commute. We are also 3 hours drive to Canberra and 2 hours to the NSW snowfields in winter. So, you will have the best of all worlds!

Up and down the coast we have beautiful coffee houses, delicious restaurants, and the far south coast is nationally recognised for our award-winning oysters and the south coast gourmet foodies trail. We have beautiful boutique shopping along with some of the popular chain stores, historical Wharfs, the local rock pools and endless walking and bike riding tracks through some of the most beautiful rainforest and coastal scenes in Australia. We have a growing population of people moving to our beautiful area from our major cities to enjoy our relaxing clean-living lifestyle.

We have our local teaching hospital, South East Regional Hospital set in the rural aspect of the Bega Valley. Our region also has many different specialists who visit our region conducting clinics in various practices around the district.

Our Family practice will be 50 years old in 2022 and was established in the same place as it stands today. We have Five dedicated GP's, all of whom have special interests in different areas. We have a very large friendly patient base comprising of all ages from birth to 100 years of age.

We are a very busy practice opening 5 days a week from 9am to 5pm. We are closed on the weekend which leaves this time for you to relax and enjoy our beautiful outdoors. We dont have to fight peak hour traffic but every now and then you may have to stop for the dairy cows crossing the road, heading for milking to provide the milk to make the cheese for our local industry BEGA CHEESE.

• 2 nurses who are highly skilled within our general practice.
• 6 friendly receptionists who are more than happy to cater to all of your admin requests
• 1 practice manager
• 1 allied health staff member doubles as a diabetic educator and a dietitian

Our very experienced Gps have a variety of specialties/special interests that they share in a weekly Clinical Meeting. This provides a great learning opportunity for you to participate in. We have had many years of experience with medical students and registrars, nurturing the next generation of Doctor's, which Canning Street takes great pride in.

Along with all aspects of general practice, we have our GPs visiting the local nursing home, we conduct flu vaccination clinics and of course Covid vaccination clinics.

We have LOTS of morning teas in the staff room, we stop for the Melbourne Cup race, we celebrate everyone's birthday, we hold a Dinner in July, our annual Christmas party and try to have a few social gatherings throughout the year.
