We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our well established, modern medical practice. Yoorana Gunya meaning Loving Home, is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation focusing on providing high-quality patient care to both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people of Forbes and surrounding towns and districts.
RVTS Training is a four-year GP and Rural Generalist training program delivered by Distance Education and Remote Supervision leading to Fellowship of the ACRRM and/or RACGP. RVTS Training is fully funded by the Australian Government.
We offer a friendly, vibrant organisational culture and flexible working arrangements, however we require the GP to work Monday to Friday. No on-call, after-hours or weekend work is required. We pride ourselves on offering professional development and support to all GPs and providing opportunities for GPs to pursue their interests and specialities.
The YG team includes GPs, Chief Executive Officer, Operations Manager, Aboriginal Clinical Manager, Registered Nurses, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, Social & Emotional Wellbeing Workers, Domestic Violence Specialist and a Family Worker. YG has visiting allied health services including Optometrist, Audiologist, Podiatrist, Dietician and Telehealth Psychologists, Psychiatrist, Endocrinologist.
YG is committed to ensuring patients are provided with high quality culturally appropriate care. Our commitment to continuous improvement within the practice is evident due to our growth and presence within our community. Working in our spacious contemporary practice, you will consult with a broad range of patients. We pride ourselves on Aboriginal health however provide services to the whole community.
The position is located in Forbes, a beautiful rural town, home to stunning Lake Forbes (only a 5-hour drive to Sydney), ideal for any GP wishing to create a life in the bush away from the city rush.
YG is a member of the Aboriginal Health & Medical Research Council (AHMRC) with a range of support and assistance in relation to Aboriginal primary health care.
