Watch the world’s first full-body scanner create a 3D movie in 20 seconds

Is it a CT? Is it a PET? No, it's the new EXPLORER

There is a plethora of imaging techniques when it comes to perusing your patient’s innards. Perhaps they need a CT or a PET scan? But why choose?

Enter the EXPLORER: the world’s first total-body scanner that produces not only 3D images, but entire movies of the human body in a matter of seconds.

The first human scans from the PET and X-ray CT hybrid were unveiled at the IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference in Sydney last week.

And the results are pretty impressive.

Radiologists may as well grab the popcorn when it comes to the diagnostic mini movies it can produce, capturing what is happening in all the organs
