Survey of more than 15,000 women reveals their greatest health concerns

Most female patients are comfortable raising any topic with their doctor, more than half have been diagnosed as having anxiety or depression, and nearly all are aware of their pelvic floor, but only a fraction do their exercises. 

The Jean Hailes foundation has surveyed more than 15,000 women to compile an annual snapshot of their greatest health concerns, habits and needs. 

"Our survey reflects that women worry about their health, particularly their weight, and getting enough time to themselves just to unwind,” says Chris Enright, Head of Education & Knowledge Exchange, at Jean Hailes for Women’s Health.

Here are 15 other key findings of the Jean Hailes Women's Health Survey 2018:  

  1. Most women younger than 80 had visited the doctor between one and five times in the past year.
  2. More than half of women (54.8%) were totally confident asking their doctor
