6 reasons pharmacist-led vaccinations are a good idea

A new Australian study published in BMJ Open suggests pharmacist-run vaccination programs have many benefits.

The research evaluated a WA program which delivered 15,621 trivalent and quadrivalent flu vaccines to adults in 76 community pharmacies between March and October 2015.

The study, led by Dr H Laetitia Hattingh of the School of Pharmacy at Curtain University, is based on data from surveys of pharmacy staff, computer records and interviews with pharmacists. It shows:

There were no serious adverse events and less than 1% of consumers
