Pharmacies are facing payment delays because of a backlog of claims for 6CPA programs.

New claiming processes, introduced in February, have trebled the number of claims received each day, the Pharmacy Guild of Australia says.

These include new requirements for DAA and MedsCheck claims and the collection of patient registration data for the DAA and MedsCheck programs.

Claiming for Staged Supply follow-up data collection has also been implemented.

Additional resources have been put in place so the 6CPA team can finalise outstanding claims as soon as possible, the Guild says.

The backlog is not affecting pharmacists’ ability to submit claims.
