ADHD diagnosis better, but concerns remain

Paediatricians are getting better at diagnosing children with ADHD, but there are still concerns about overtreatment, an Australian study shows.  

A review of ADHD diagnostic practices of 24 paediatricians from Victoria and WA found their management of 137 children was broadly in agreement with best-practice guidelines, although discrepancies were notable in a few key areas. 

There were concerns about paediatricians not routinely obtaining sufficient information from parents in 12% of cases and from teachers in 15% of
