Too many teens are ending up in emergency departments

Adolescents with mental health problems turning up to EDs in ever-greater numbers are "canaries in the coalmine", experts warn.

Recent data show three times as many teens present with mental disorders than physical disorders, while self-harm presentations have increased by more than 50% in a decade.
