After-hours doctors need more support: study

One-third of doctors working for the nation's biggest after-hours deputising service report low levels of clinical support while doing their job, a study suggests.

The questionnaire-based survey was sent to 300 doctors working for National Home Doctor Service between October 2013 and September 2014.

Clinical support was defined as having access to things like electronic clinical decision support systems, manuals and drug formularies to help guide point-of-care decision-making.
