AHPRA’s new registration system problematic for IMGs
A NATIONWIDE information blitz aimed at getting doctors to register on time has been launched by AHPRA, following its infamous first year of operations.
The agency last week sent email reminders to roughly 65,000 practitioners with general or specialist registration ahead of the 30 September renewal deadline. It plans to send two more reminder emails plus three letters in the next month.
“There have been significant service improvements to registrants since last year,” said an AHPRA spokesperson, adding that the agency had also reconfigured its telephone call centre.
However AHPRA expected that more renewals would be done online.
The information blitz follows the recent release of the Senate inquiry report into AHPRA’s administration of health practitioner registration.
