Alert fatigue an issue for Aussie pharmacists
The majority of Pharmacy News readers believe that alert fatigue is an issue for Australian pharmacists.
Our recent poll: “Do you believe 'alert fatigue' is an issue for Australian pharmacists?” attracted more than 120 responses, with 91% of voters in agreement that alert fatigue was a problem. Only 9% believed that alert fatigue was not an issue.
Alert fatigue is thought to arise when pharmacists receive a large number of alerts or flags in computer systems regarding drug interaction risks, and choose to ignore or turn off the warnings.
