All GP registrar places now filled

A RECORD number of GP registrars have entered training programs this year with all 900 places having been successfully filled.

The announcement by Health Minister Nicola Roxon, made today at the General Practice Registrars Australia conference being held in Canberra, follows the government's latest increase in GP training place numbers - up from last year's capped intake of 700.

Ms Roxon told conference delegates the Government's increases to training place numbers over the past four years had put 475 extra GPs in training. By lifting the total number of
