AMA and pharmacists go head to head

Pharmacists should “stick to being pharmacists” and not try to expand their scope of practice into immunisation services, the AMA says.

Dr Brian Morton, chair of the AMA’s Council of General Practice, criticised Queensland’s Department of Health’s decision to approve a pilot program which will enable trained pharmacists to provide vaccines this year, saying “they are not trained or skilled”.
