AMA and PSA developing plan for pharmacists in GP clinics

The Australian Medical Association (AMA) and the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia have announced their partnership in developing a model to support a more integrated role for pharmacists to work in GP clinics, as part of the primary care team.

Recent surveys conducted by the AMA and the PSA indicated strong interest from many members of both organisations for such an arrangement, which could enhance patient care.

Grant Kardachi, national president of the PSA, said that some GPs and pharmacists were already working together in a more integrated and collaborative model,
