AMA, RACGP demand double training payment

AMA president Dr Steve Hambleton said the current incentive of $100 for each three-hour session had not been raised since 2005 and “the inadequacy” of the payment was discouraging GPs from teaching and training as it did not account for the opportunity, training, accommodation or administrative costs. The proposal echoed the RACGP’s pre-budget submission in February, which also called for the incentive to be doubled.
