Antihypertensive use linked to lower risk for kidney failure in cases with advanced disease
For patients with advanced chronic kidney disease, ACEi or ARB treatment is associated with a reduced risk for kidney failure with replacement therapy but not death, according to US findings.
Authors from the University of California in San Francisco used data from randomised controlled trials from 1946 to 2023 to examine the the association of ACEi or ARB treatment initiation with rates of kidney failure with replacement therapy (KFRT) and death.
