Antibiotics at early age ups obesity risk

Kids treated with broad-spectrum antibiotics before age two face a higher risk of childhood obesity, a US study says.

The research published in the JAMA Pediatrics is the latest to link weight problems and antibiotics, which can eliminate bacterial infections but also the beneficial intestinal microbiota that colonises the gut.
