Antibiotics work for kids with chronic cough
Antibiotics are effective in persistent productive cough in almost half of young children, Australian research finds.
Forty-eight per cent of otherwise healthy children with a productive cough lasting at least three weeks achieved cough resolution with amoxycillin clavulanate, compared with 16% of those given placebo, a randomised trial found.
