Antidepressants linked to ongoing weight gain

Patients taking antidepressants can expect to gain as much as 2kg a year, psychiatrists say.

A NSW study of 3000 patients on antidepressants and 16,000 controls aged 45 and over has found that patients who take antidepressants long term are 19% more likely to gain more than 3% of their body weight a year than those not taking the drugs.
