Anti-drug campaigners barking up the wrong tree
Negative message does not resonate with recreational users

Anti-drug campaigners do not understand the motivations of recreational drug users and are sending them the wrong message, according to an Australian study.

It suggests harm mitigation strategies must speak to a wider audience as well as address the social attraction of drugs. That's because recreational adult users do not relate well to messages aimed at young people or those that focus on antisocial features of drug use.
