Asthma mortality rate plummets

Australia’s asthma mortality rate has declined substantially over the past 30 years but it remains relatively high by international standards, according to a report.

Compiled by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW), the study shows that while the US and the UK have similar asthma death rates to Australia for people aged 5-34, rates are lower in Poland, Italy, Japan, Germany and France.
