Asthmatics choose 'Dr Google' over GP

More than a third of asthma patients do not follow their doctor’s advice on taking preventer medications, an Australian survey has reported.

The Asthma Foundation NSW survey found that 40% of people did not follow their GP’s advice with:
- 26% reducing their medication dosage
- 11% taking it only when they felt like it
- 2% increasing their dosage.
A further 9% of the 730 adults who responded to the survey said they didn’t have any form of reliever medication.
