Australia’s true COPD burden revealed

Almost 1.5 million Australians are afflicted by moderate to severe chronic lung disease, many of them undiagnosed, the most comprehensive national snapshot to date reveals.
Some 15% of men and 14% of women aged over 40 have some form of COPD, with 7% and 8% respectively experiencing moderate to severe disease, according to the landmark BOLD (Burden of Obstructive Lung Disease) study.
