Avoid sushi, soft cheese — and TV

In a study presented at the Pediatric Academic Societies annual meeting in Canada this week, researchers from the New York University School of Medicine followed 189 women from low-income families enrolled in an early childhood obesity prevention program who were monitored throughout their pregnancy and until their child was three years of age.

They found that women who ate while watching TV during their pregnancy were five times more likely to expose their infants to TV while feeding them than women who did not watch
