Banned GP reinstated after tribunal told of lingering war wounds

A GP, banned for sexual misconduct with two patients, has been given the green light to practise again, after a tribunal was told of his depression and trauma linked to childhood experiences in the Vietnam war.

The GP was a solo practitioner in western Sydney when, during a consultation to treat genital warts, he performed oral sex on a 27-year-old male patient, who went to the police with a phone recording of the incident.
