Bariatric bypass risk for boozers

Moderate to heavy drinkers should be advised against gastric bypass, an expert says, after research confirmed the procedure can trigger a rise in alcohol consumption.

The study, published Tuesday, found typical alcohol intake plummeted immediately after the procedure but then rose steadily over time.
