Bariatric surgery may have proven health benefits, but it is apparently bad for marriages.

Researchers have found that people who have the surgey are more inclined to end their relationship than obese people who haven't.
The same was true when compared with the general population.
They suggest this may be because the subsequent weight loss empowers patients who are unhappy with their partner to finally leave them.
