IT’S common knowledge that the general health of the prison population is significantly poorer than that of wider society, with problems related to substance abuse, mental health and communicable disease rife among those in the system.

However, a registrar post overseen by ANU Medical School’s CoastCityCountry Training program presents registrars who have an interest in social medicine with an opportunity to make a difference to the lives of those in custodial care.
