Junior GP registrars have long had their own industrial-style protection in the National Minimum Terms and Conditions (NMTC) – and now that may be extended to all registrars under a plan being explored by GPRA.
The GPRA’s NMTC subcommittee says some senior registrars aren’t getting the best deal, while supervisors say they already have serious bargaining power.

“THE conversation has only just started but our concern is that the minimum price often becomes the maximum price.
For all practices third term registrars are already earning and billing what regular GPs would, which is why they can usually negotiate reasonably good deals. In term three they don’t require any formal supervision
