Benefits of mammography outweigh harms

Routine breast screening saves two lives for every case of "over-diagnosed" breast cancer, a comprehensive review of European mammography screening has found.

Encompassing 20 years of data, the findings show the benefits of screening outweigh the harms, and bolster the argument to continue routine mammography programs, the authors wrote in the Journal of Medical Screening this month.
