Best ways to prevent dementia

One in three cases of dementia could potentially be prevented if brain health is improved throughout life by targeting nine risk factors, according to new evidence presented on Thursday.

These include staying in education until over at least 15; reducing hypertension, obesity and hearing loss in midlife (45-65); and reducing smoking, depression, physical inactivity, social isolation and diabetes in later life (over 65).
