Better Access cuts hit patients

More than 40% of GPs have slashed the number of care plans they complete for mental health patients in the wake of the Federal Government rebate cuts, a snapshot online survey by Australian Doctor shows.

More than half of the 120 GP responders said cuts to Better Access — introduced last November — were already having a “detrimental effect” on patient outcomes.
