Better Access cuts see patients paying more

A row has erupted over whether the bulk-billing of mental health patients has collapsed in the wake of cuts to the Better Access scheme.

A new AMA survey of more than 400 GPs found only 39% bulk-billed all patients for the mental health care plans — down from 78% last year before patient rebates for some care plans were slashed by up to half.
