Better Access 'still falls short'

After almost nine months of campaigning by GP and mental health groups, the government said yesterday it would revise the number of subsidised psychologist visits in “exceptional circumstances” from 10 to 16. Until 1 November, the maximum number of subsidised visits was 18.

But the government made no change to its almost halving of rebates for patients undertaking mental health plans with their GP under the same Better Access scheme, and furious GPs yesterday
