Blackmores doubles first-half profit

Vitamins maker Blackmores has more than doubled its first half net profit to $48.3 million thanks to strong demand from Chinese buyers in Australia.

The company beat market expectations with its profit for the half year to 31st December, which was delivered on the back of a 65.5% surge in revenues to $341.4 million.

Sales in Australia soared by nearly 75%, bolstered by Chinese tourists and entrepreneurs, the launch of a new Superfood range and digital marketing.
