Board warns owners to carry out responsibilities

The Pharmacy Board of Australia has warned proprietor pharmacists to ensure that they carry out their responsibilities, even if the pharmacy is not their principal place of practice.

In its December newsletter, the Board said that even if owners are “operationally silent” or present only infrequently at the pharmacy, they must maintain an active interest in how the practice of the pharmacy is being conducted, and intervene if this practice is not appropriate.
