Call to extend free flu vax to children

Free flu vaccinations should be extended to children because they now have low vaccination rates and a high burden of the disease, a paediatrician says.

Dr Christopher Blyth, a paediatrician at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children in Perth, WA, says rates of flu vaccination for children have collapsed since the Fluvax adverse events crisis of 2010 and there is a need to rebuild confidence in the vaccine.
