Call to fund naltrexone implant trial

The Christian Democrats have called for a publicly funded trial of naltrexone implants, just weeks after a clinic using the controversial opioid addiction treatment was condemned following the deaths of three patients.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that at a public forum on Thursday, Reverend Fred Nile, the party’s leader, called on NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell to fund naltrexone implants.
