Call for MBS funds for victims of child sexual abuse

Political moves are in progress to give victims of child sexual abuse access to long-term psychological treatment under Medicare.

Recommendations in the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse call for the Federal Government to make MBS funds available to those who were abused in schools, churches and care homes, to assist their undergoing psychological care and counselling.

The cost of monetary compensation and ongoing treatment should come out of a national $4 billion redress scheme funded by governments and organisations named as being
