Call for wider access to insulin pumps

The government must overhaul its restrictive and "unfair" access to insulin pump therapy for type 1 diabetes patients, according to a new report from Australia's peak diabetes organisation.

The eligibility criteria for the publicly funded Insulin Pump Program (IPP) needs to be thrown open to type 1 patients based on clinical need, according the document compiled by Diabetes Australia.
