Childhood antibiotics linked to IBD

Children who are exposed to common antibiotics are up to four times greater risk of developing childhood inflammatory bowel disease, a large study suggests.

The UK research of more than one million patients aged 17 years and below found that the risk was highest in those prescribed antibiotics aged one year or younger, and decreased as children were exposed at older ages.
