Childhood trauma triples type 1 risk

Children who experience psychological stress triple their risk of developing type 1 diabetes before the age of 14, say Swedish researchers.  

Their study of 10,000 families with children aged between two and 14 shows increased risk of diabetes after traumatic life events is comparable to other environmental factors such as birth weight, infant nutrition and enterovirus infection.
