Childhood vaccination uptake rises

Australia has seen an upturn in rates of childhood vaccination in the past year, but there is still room for improvement, says an immunisation expert.

The proportion of Australian children fully vaccinated at 12 months rose from 90.69% in 2014 to 92.28% in 2015, according to the latest figures from the Australian Childhood Imunisation Register.

The increase represents an upturn in vaccination uptake which made a downward turn in 2012 after being on an upward trend since 2006.
