Childlessness preserves health of older women

Nulliparous women are less healthy than women with children during their peak reproductive years, but the reverse is true for older women, Australian research suggests.

Childless women aged between 24 and 44 had significantly worse physical and mental health than women with children, found the study of 10-year data from the Household Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia study (HILDA).

But the study also found that childlessness may be protective against poor
