Circumcision should be a crime, says law report

Circumcision of boys for non-therapeutic reasons is “an assault and a wounding”, and should be a criminal offence, a Tasmanian legal review has recommended.

The Tasmanian Law Reform Institute report, released Tuesday, says circumcision should only be performed on minors when there are well-established religious, ethnic or medical motivations.
