Closing the treatment gap on back pain

A large gap between evidence and what is actually happening in primary care is helping drive a lack of progress in improving outcomes for patients with low lower back pain, an expert says.

Speaking at the Australian Rheumatology Association conference in Hobart Professor Chris Maher, director of the Musculoskeletal Division at the George Institute for Global Health, said many issues were hampering efforts to improve outcomes for patients with acute low back pain.
